My Troy I've been on for the last few months. Great bike, just wish it was a little slacker up front...

Pike RCT3, Vivid Air, XX1 drivetrain, Formula RO brakes, Hadley hubs with Ti spokes and Light Bicycle 35mm rims, Reverb stealth with Silverado SLT seat, Easton Havoc 35mm bars and 50mm stem. (Race Face SIXC bars and Atlas 35 pictured)

I'm looking at a Large Troy frame and the TT numbers look real short for a large frame...Any info on if they feel short on top?

About 12.5kgs I think. My build spreadsheet suggests just under that anyway as a ballpark. I will try and weight it at some point to get an accurate weight. I tried to build it quite light without sacrificing too much in terms of relaibility/strength.

2015 Troy XP (Aluminum) size small

This arrived about a month ago, but I haven't had a chance to ride it yet due to all the snow on the trails! I've installed a few upgrades while I wait for the trails to dry:
    Stan's Flow wheelset
    Reverb dropper seat post
    RaceFace Turbine handlebar
    Hope seatpost collar

Still debating on pedals. I have some Shimano Saints I could install, but thinking of getting blue pedals to stick my my color scheme on the handlebar & seatpost collar.

On mine? I just added the Saint flat pedals. I am feeling a little miserly right now and couldn't justify spending $150 on pedals when I already had some. They actually look really nice with the frame and pick up on the black and white accents well. I think I'm done with upgrades for now, and it's just time to ride! I finally got out on the trails last Sunday, and the bike felt fantastic once I got the suspension dialed in. I'm definitely looking forward to tackling our techier trails to see if I feel more confident on this bike than I did on my Giant Anthem 29er.

Yeah! I was really surprised by how well it climbs, too! My other bike is a Giant Anthem 29er, which is a couple pounds lighter than the Troy, yet I feel like the Troy climbs just as well, if even a little better. Weird. I was totally expecting my climbing to suffer a bit, but to make up for it on the downhills. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds.

Slikgraphics stickers. Choose these, then choose custom colour and type in Spartan fade...

I love both of these bikes. It's hard to choose as I don't see a drawback to either for their specific designs. I tend to try and ride the descents as hard as possible, and the Spartan just feels easier to manage at high speed. Especially in the corners... I'm more centered now, and the lower BB also helps. I feel like the Spartan didn't give up too much in the climbing department either. It really motors up anything I want to climb...

Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, let me know...

Uncle Cliffy, nice looking bike! I'm curious about bike fit. I'm 6' even, not sure what my inseam is, and I felt like the large was a little short in the cockpit for me. My weight felt too far back. So I ordered an XL.

How tall are you? Did you try a large?

I'm 6'2" (34" inseam) and almost always ride XL bikes unless it's a DH bike. I think the sizing is perfect, even though it feels shorter than most companies bikes these days. If it feels too big, try a 35mm stem.

Got mine. Slikgraphics sent two extra decals that don't seem to fit in anywhere on the fork. Did you find anywhere to put them?

I know with my kit, the word ROCKSHOX came in two different colors so I could pick the color I wanted...

Well, after a year of slowly upgrading, i think shes about done. Just added the new light bike 38mm wheelset yesterday.

Light Bike 38mm wheels with Hope Pro 2 hubs
Maxxis High Roller 2 2.3 tires
Enve DH bars cut to 760mm
    Race Face 50mm Chester stem
    ODI Grips
Shimano XT Brakes with 180mm Ice Tech Rotors
Race Next SL Crank with Direct Mount Chainring
    Race Face Affect Pedals
    Rockshox Reverb 125mm Stealth Dropper
    Cane Creek InLine DB Shock
    SRAM PG-1070 Cassette
    Race Face Affect Seat

Still using the stock X7 derailleur and Shifter, they work perfectly so no need to upgrade at this point. Absolutely love this bike!
