django 130 fork wish they went 140?

Deciding on fork and leaning toward Fox Float 130, but wanted to ask if 140 is the way to go. I'm a 160 pound Cat 1 XC racer with decades of off-road motorcycle racing, but my trails aren't full of nasty rocks, roots, dropoffs, and I'm more of a finesse rider instead of a bash 'em straight on type.

Stick with 130? All the rave reviews don't even mention needing or wanting 140 like many other frames/brands going up from mfg's spec.

    Thanks.

130 is quicker felling but with that said I have got a 140 pike on it for the last 3 months and love it, no draw backs

Thanks! Guess I should've added I ride mostly around Boise, McCall, Jug Mountain. Nothing like Moab or the truly rough stuff. Having said that I already have a 29er HT and short travel 29er FS for xc/marathon. Might be nice going 140 and having less overlap with my 100mm bike.

Decisions, decisions.... Not buying fork until Monday so I can OCD myself, ha.

Many people are going to go with 140mm. It seems to be fairly common.

Oh, that's an excellent option. The Fox can be extended from 130 to 140 with a $40 air shaft. I should've known because a recent post of mine asked about extending a 120 to 130, and that needs a new air shaft AND new $260 damper because the 120mm Fox platform is diff than the 130. But if I buy a 130 it could just be a $40 experiment/swap to 140. Thanks for giving me the idea!

What about the pike? I know my 160 pike can be lowered, but not sure you can extend from the factory's setting.

I went Fox for its lower axle to crown and slightly lower weight, and have good luck with my other Fit4 damper in the stepcast 32, plus I can use my weight weenie kabolt in the 130 Fox. And it's on sale as luck would have it.

I had a fox 32 back in 13 on a 29er and it was a limp noodle. But I'm not building mine for xc.

Yep, that's why the Fox 34 130mm is going on. I save the Fox 32 Stepcast for the HT and short travel 29er.
