Will MTB 29er hydro disc components work for CX build
I'm looking at building a cx bike and hoping to re-use a large portion of the components off my Giant XTC 29er until I can afford lighter parts.
After researching for a few weeks, I haven't found an answer to the question of using hydraulic disc brakes on a cyclocross frame.
Will my Shimano SLX hydro disc brake set fit on a disc cx frameset?
I plan to use a flat-bar so will re-use the brake/gear shifters if possible.
From everything I've read, it sounds like the main disadvantage is weight. But the mounts look the same as the mech disc, so i'm wondering if the components will work.
Appreciate any insight.

It'll work as long as you're using your shifters or singlespeed.
Thanks for the reply. I was wondering why I couldn't find any examples of people doing this. Could it be simply due to the fact that using a flat bar on a cross bike is rare?

Here's an awesome example of someone using mtn.discs (XTR) on a cross bike (Hakkalugi). He's on a single speed though.
