this bike has a really short stem.
but my stem has to also accept cyclocross ( tenspeed )style bars dia. too ?

Looks like you found your answer in that SIC stem.
Direct mount stems on DH bikes mount to the top crown of the dual crown fork rather than to the steertube. Wouldnt work on your bike.
The real reason it's so hard to find stems is that Cannondale made their own standard that nobody else follows. 1.5" stems arent far off but dont fit which is a shame since it's a standard that has been embraced in the freeride/DH community.
Cannondale made a 80mm free ride stem for Leftys,should work for a head shock. I think its a 10 degree rise 31.8 ,could be flipped for more drop. I have one kicking around.
