    Tubeless tape for CX wheels?

Just got my first CX bike (2015 Felt F65X). The rims say 622x17 on them so I'm assuming the 17 is referring to the inner width instead of the outer width.

I've gone tubeless on all my mountain bikes and all happened to have 24-25mm inner widths so I just used the 1" Stan's tape and it fit fine. However, no such tape exists in 17mm. Do you guys use Stan's tape and cut it to width or what?

There seems to be far less tubeless info in the CX world than in the mountain world. Couldn't find anything with a search.

Gorilla tape works great - very strong and sticky.
Just tear a strip to fit the center groove (and side shelves if you need to have the tire bead fit tighter). I've used it on several wheelsets and never had a problem.

Gorilla tape dissolves after some time.
Therefore I use Tesa 4289 in 19mm on my 19mm rims.
Very similar to Stanīs tape but not as expensive. You could cut it a bit narrower on the role using a very sharp knife.

Yes but like my original post says, not that size

12,21,25 is all I can find. I may just cut some off a roll of 21

Use the 21mm stan's tape. It's what they recommend for their alpha rims which have a 17 mm width.

Too wide... I went with cut-to-width gorilla tape and it worked fine.

Thanks for the heads-up, Flo. I haven't run into any problems with Gorilla tape yet, but I'll pay special attention next time I replace sealant. Did the problems you refer to occur with Stans or Orange sealant or another type?

    Hi levity,
that happened with Stanīs sealant on Velocity P35s (worked for over a year though) but it seems to be a general issue that the adhesive of Gorilla tape canīt withstand the "liquid" for a long time.
