    Steel racer with discs...

    Anyone think of some examples? Not a "do it all touring bike" but something more racer boi-ish....
    Thanks

    I heard great things about CURTLO, call Doug! I'd have had one built weren't it for import problems... Cheap for a custom builder and quality on the same level of Independent Fab.... (not the paintjob probably but you don't ride paint!)

    Spot's Mod SS can be run with derailleurs, if you're into that sort of thing...
    With the Spot, you're getting pretty close to the cost of a custom, especially considering Curtlo, Waltworks, and Rock Lobster's prices.

    I don't want to insist, but Curtlo is not that expensive... 990 dollars for a CX model in true temper OX, disc tabs, choice of straight or banana stays. NO! I'm not a Curtlo dealer, just an Italian guy who had to renounce to a Curtlo because of the Italian confusing import laws. An Eston EC 90 is 200 dollars, a SRAM Force gruppo would set you back of about 1500 dollars. The total is way less expensive than a Spot SS. And you can get the components for cheaper prices elsewhere.

    I eventually bought a Ritchey swisscross, which doesn't have disc tabs so is out of question, but at the end of the day, a Curtlo would have costed the same (brought here in Italy), even if the frame is on a different league (and made in the USA)

    Civilian bicycle co. Vive le roi

    I saw one of these at a race, not the lightest stock, but a solid build and darn sharp looking

    I too, am looking for one... I found my answer here:

    ::T R A I T O R C Y C L E S::

    I emailed Traitor (aka Transition Bikes) about their custom disc version they recently made.

    They replied saying their 2013 version will be disc only and have a tapered headtube!!!
    Not coming till end of summer though... I can wait!!!
