    Stans Crest Wheelsets on ebay…thoughts?

There are a bunch of Stans Crest wheel sets from the same guy on ebay that are selling for less than $400 new.

Any idea why they are so much cheaper than everywhere else? Are they worth it?

I'm soon looking for a set for my CX bike that may also be used occasionally on my SS MTB.

    Stans Crest Wheelsets on ebay…thoughts?

Richard's Bikes is a good shop. I ordered a bike from them and the customer service was great.

By the way, they are cheaper because of the hubs.

I wouldn't say they are junk, just lower cost hubs. This is what is bringing the wheelset cost down. I don't have personal experience with any of these, other than a few rides on a set of X9 hubs. Expect higher weight than a set of Crests with ZTR hubs. Richard's can build wheels with basically any hub/rim/spoke combination you want.

The hubs are OK. Im probably going to use the hope pro IIs from another wheel set so that i can run a rear 10mm thru and front 9 or 15mm.
