    Which Specialized Crux?

Just wanted to get some advice from everyone over here...which one would you rather get?

2013 Crux Carbon Pro ($3,450 LBS discount)

    or

Wait for 2014 Crux Elite Rival Disc ($3,200)

Won't be doing any racing and looking for a solid bike for all around and road as well. Main thing holding me up is Discs cause I have discs on my MTB and Hydros are coming on the 2014...

I just bought the 2014 Crux expert red as a commuter and so i could have some fun with the odd CX race. I was interested in seeing how the hydros compare to my mtb. So my vote would be the 2014 model.

My LBS gave same ETA for the 2014s. Probably will end up going 2014

I say go for the bike with the disc brakes.

My husband has the 2012 Crux Elite and upgraded to Avid Shorty brakes. I have the 2013 Crux carbon expert disc (Avid BB7 brakes). We've been riding our Crux's primarily on mtb trails and there is a huge difference in braking ability between the bikes. I won't ride in front of my husband because he can't stop as fast as me. Also, even though he's faster than I am, there are times when he holds me up because he can't brake as aggressively as I can.

That's cause you are secretly faster! I think I'll end up waiting for 2014. The LBS said they should arrive 3 rd week of August. I am now eyeing that expert red...

You'll LOVE your new bike. My husband and I have been going on 'Cruxpeditions' (Cruxpedition - noun - crux.pe.di.tion - a bike journey or voyage that incorporates both pavement and dirt and is otherwise unsuitable for a road bike.) It's opened up a whole new way of riding when you look to combine road and trail, as opposed to avoiding as much road as possible.

I have heard that the disk brake cyclocross bikes have much better stopping power than the normal rim brake cyclocross bikes.
