    My new Focus Mares 1.0

Picked up my new bike today and I think I am going to really like it. I will get to give it a good test Wednesday. Weighed in at 20lbs as it sits which I didn't think was to bad for a aluminum frame. This will be my road/gravel bike.

Love it, especially the forks, is the frame really stiff?

Anyway, I feel at home with you fellow Americans.

In Italy my bike has been deprived of its CX label because apparently I'm the only one to use it as a gravel bike and not as a CX race rig.

I've been told "call it however you like, but not CX bike", "a REAL CX bike cannot be ridden offroad", "serous CX bikes are for racing" etc.

Now, apart from the fact that I don't give a damn, isn't this cathegorizing bikes and people a bit dumb?

My bike is this , BTW. It looks a CX sled to me....Ritchey Swisscross: opinions please....
