    I have a dream, but...

I have been thinking lately that a light, single speed, rigid bike with light, low rolling resistance wheels/tires would be a blast. My reality is this though. I ride very rocky terrain here in AZ and am not sure a CX bike is up to my 240 lbs over said terrain. Opinions please & thank you!

If you are only riding off road terrain, then a rigid 29er would probably be more up to the task than a cross bike. If you are riding some pavement and tamer off road terrain, then a cross bike would make perfect sense. Run at least 32 spoke wheels and anything above a 35mm tire with appropriate air pressure.

I would ride maybe 2 miles on road to get to an aggressive 12 mile loop with a lot of sharp edged rocks. Thinking I better suck it up & turn the heavier tires. Thanks for the advice though
