Cyclocross tubes going flat while standing still

    Hi,

I'm proud owner of a carbon cyclocross wheelset with racing ralph tubes.
Very happy with them, but when the bike is in the garage after a ride, the tubes are going flat after a week.

Usually ride between 3 and 4 bar. After a week, they sit at 1 to 1,5 bar.
Is this normal? These are my first tubes so very little experience with them.

My 29er (maxxis 2,1 with inner tubes) are still at pressure after 150miles over 3 weeks.

    Thanks

Racing Ralph tubulars, correct? Most tubulars have a latex tube inside the tire (not butyl, like most bike tubes are probably made of).

Latex tubes are known to leak over time. Everything is fine based on what you're saying...just get out to them and pump them up every week if you're not a fan of seeing them completely flat.

There are advantages to latex tubes....but they aren't all advantages compared to butyl.

Yes, if latex tubes, those can lose air pretty fast. I have a set of Conti Cyclocross Speeds with latex tubes and they drop from 50 to 20 psi in a week. My tubeless tires lose maybe 5-10 psi in a week and I have some thicker butyl tubes in another bike and those will hold air for 6 months or more.

Completely normal for sew ups with latex tubes.

    Thanks.

Not really having a proboem with it. Was wondering if it was normal or not.
