Cx geometry vs gravel or commuter bike

Looking for advice. Really liking the All city bike lineup and hoping to head out of town soon to look at some. None local. Coming from a mtb background. Looking for a comfortable gravel style all road etc. I found a great deal on a all city macho king. It is supposed to be their cross race bike. How aggressive is a bike like that for a 2 to 3 hour ride on gravel, paved, very easy singletrack. Looking for something to stay fresh in the saddle for a few hours and not typical cross race time of and hour

Other bike in their lineup is the cosmic stallion. I have ridden a niner rlt steel briefly and enjoyed that geometry. Thx

FWIW..I own a Macho Man Disc, and have done 50mile rides on it, and I use it as my road/rail trail/light trails, and its very comfortable! Close to 500 miles, and I'm very happy with it.

Edit: I should mentioned I returned an RLT (allu) for the MMD.

Niner rlt was a 53. Macho man is a 52. Hopefully comparable.

Jcd46, thats awesome . Sounds like the type of rides I would do on it. So comfortable for sure and not to racy? Would like to hear some more since you have a direct comparison. Thx

I was on a 56 Kona Jake CX geo, the MMD is a 55 and the fit is even better than the Jake. Seems like their frames run a bit bigger.

Typical Gravel bike geo, not racy at all. It is more up right than the Kona. As you know the steel frame creates a super smooth ride.

1x11 11-42. The only negative is brakes, but this was a Jenson's build. I will be replacing those, and going tubeless when budget allows.

I forget if the Macho King geo is the same as the Macho Man, but if they're the same the King would make an excellent cross/gravel/whatever bike.

I bought my first All City last year, a Nature Boy Disc. I'm really impressed with the ride quality for the price. I've beat on it on some chunky single track, and done plenty of long rides (up to 80 miles). Great little bike.

Stop asking how much it weighs and just go ride it.
