    Canti Squeal - TRP Euro X

    Hey all!

    I recently rerouted my cable when installing a new front shifter. Afterwards my front brake squeals like crazy about half way through the lever pull. Any tips on how to set these up so they will stop squealing/still have good power.

    I've tried sanding the pads and cleaning all braking surfaces, no dice.

    TRP Euro X al, without toe adjustment. Anyway to toe them in a bit?

    TRP Inplace pads have a toe adjustment feature;
    TRP INPLACE Adjustable Brake Pads

    Other than that, several options;
    You can take the existing pads out of the arms and try to carefully bend the post relative to the pad for a bit for toe.

    Sand away the trailing end of the pad contact surface to produce toe.

    The time-honored way of adjusting original mafac cantilevers was to just take be big cresent wrench and bend the arms to achieve toe.

    You might also want to google and read up on anti-sqeal/shudder benefits of fork crown mounted cable hanger if that is an option with your fork.

    I just went back and reread the manual, used the inplace adjustment and got it fixed with a little toe in! Thanks.
