    things neccessary to build frames?

    i'm thinking about building a hardtail frame, and i'm interested in what i'll need. i'm signed up for a welding class, have access to a TIG welder, and can get 4130 cro-mo steel. what else do i need?

    The ability to fail and keep trying !
    Buy the best jig possible and frame table too !

    wow. i just realized what i'm getting into. anyway to make due without a 3500$ jig?
    but is there any website that goes through the process?

    The newer jigs from Anvil are really nice and come in a bit cheeper than most of the older production jigs ( FYI : I paid $5500 for my Arctos )

    You can build your own JIG but I woulnt recommend this unless you happen to be a very good machinist !

    There are cheeper JIG like the one from Henry James.

    Building your own frames isn't all Whisky Drinks and chocolate bars !

    thanks for the help. also, what diameter tubes do you recomend for the TT, seat stays and DT?

    At some point if you plan on building frames you will need to figure this out for yourself .
    Don't ask us to design your bike for you ! This is one of the best parts about building your own bikes !!
