What did you do to your KHS today?

A little slow around here, so what have you done lately?

I just built up my 204 and put most of my components from my hardtail on it. The last few weeks I got may hands on a few $ and did some upgrades.

    This week I...
-Changed out my SOS rims for some Mavic 717's XT hubs
-Changed my no name bars for some Monkeylite sl's
    -Sette 90mm stem
    -Kalloy cabon post
    -WTB pure slt saddle
    -BB7's
-Maxxis larsen TT on the rear

I'm around 30lbs now. The bike was pretty chubby before. I'm good for a while. My fork or rear shock will be my next upgrade... Christmas maybe?

    How about you?

I left her home and rode the hardtail.
I do plan on upgrading to SRAM X~7 9-speed like the HT has, so she wasn't completely forgotten. In fact, you could say the KHS will benefit from me taking the HT out.

Sold one of them, still have 2 though. Only reason I sold one is because i'm looking to do a C/F frame build over the winter or buy an OTS C/F frame bike. Maybe a 2010 or 2011 XC-Team

I stripped it down to the frame so I could sell the Flagstaff and replaced it with a Niner.

Put a replacement rear shock on it (used Fox Float RC). Setting it up as we speak. Last week, replace the tired Panaracer tires with Kenda Negval (front) and small block 8 (rear).

Used Salsa Red Titanium skewers front and back:

    Used Hope seat post clamp:

Used Bontrager lock on grips/ red trim:

Sette 90mm stem, hoping to change to a Thompson, Race Face, or something similar. Bike was purchased used, and everything that has gone on the bike is used, so it is starting to be trend with me. Cool ride on a budget.

I installed my new RS Sid World Cup fork and new Avid XO brakes on my XC Team and new Sram Stylo OCT Crankset as well. I'll post pics sometime soon. Does anyone else have a XC Team? I see a lot of posts for trail bikes but not many for the xc race bikes.

Dusted it off, cleaned/lubed/aired and tweaked. Haven't had much time to ride due to workload (good!) and weather (bad!). Worked 65 hours last week and looking at 75 this coming week, but vacation afterward. Time to ride and fish.

Took my KHS sixfifty606 and upgraded to:

    Avid Elixir 5
(have much better feel than the Hayes that were on it)

    Truvativ BooBar 780mm Wide Bar
(I am a "big o' boy" so the 780mm feels just right)

    Lizard Skin Clamp-on Grips
(so they don't move under my "Big o' boy" weight)

    185mm Wave Disc
(Up front to stop my "Big o' boy" weight)
    Fat-n00b

    KHS sixfifty606
    Felt F90

    Current Condition:
    6' 2" @ 288 lbs.

not today but last week. new XT freehub body, which got rid of a "knocking" sound in the rear and 185mm G3 cleansweep rotor up front. there's a bit of difference from a 160 and they don't squeal as the shimano rotor did. either today or tomorrow new tires, maxxis ADvantage 2.1

that frame is worth upgrading parts on, as $$$s permit. did that with my old '06 104 before it was warranty replaced and it was the equivelant of the 604, if not better. made for a better ride too, over a mozo shock and spinner fork which a utter crap but used to keep the $$$s down, oh and the winzip disc brakes too

heres a pic of my bike, nothing too crazy on it yet! Still trying to figure out how it would be best to mount my speedometer sensor/magnet. I have it attached now, but I had to put some rubber pieces under the sensor to push it closer to the magnet on the spokes. Im thinking about installing it on the right side of the forks, since the spokes on that side are closer to the fork leg(because the disc brake is on the other side) but then the cable for the sensor isnt wrapped around anything. Right now the sensor wire is wrapped around front brake cable...
jk about pic of bike, I guess I need to have 10 posts first lol

So I bought a 2006 solo one. I've been tuning it up and going through it to get it ready for my first ride. Adding hydraulic disc brakes too finished the back last night. I removed these tiny bar ends and put some new grips on it too. Can't wait to try it out tonight

    Put her up for sale!

I put a craigslist ad up for my like new 2009 KHS XC Team frame and Monarch 4.2 rear shock. This thing has only a handful of rides but I just have too many stinkin toys! I hope to find a buyer at $400. Shouldn't be a problem I hope!

new racrface handlebars ( atlas low raiser ) and new stem - fsa 100 mm.
    changed the bike around.
although it's an entry level bike ( alite 150 ), with new stem and handlebars it has very classy feel.
sorry for the bad quality photo.

Took my soft tail to the LBS to get thewheels trued. I installed new pads and now the rim brakes work great again. Maybe I don't need to convert to disk brakes.

I finished my Reba rebuild and replaced all rear bearings with Enduro Max bearings. I'll re-tweak the suspension settings next ride.

Upgraded the stem/bars/seat and post today. Ditched the old heavy no-name stem and Kore post with new Syncros stuff. Going to try to pick up a new set of tires over the weekend.

Edit: Picked up a set of Panaracer Smoke/Dart Classics. Figured I'd go with something tried and true. Definitely lighter than the WTB EnduroRaptors they replaced. Actually, the bike as a whole feels lighter with the new cockpit and tires. Meh. Probably in my head.

I installed new cranks and converted over to a 1x9 set up with a Paul's Chain Keeper... dropped over 3lbs!! My extra large XC204 is now down to 30.5lbs!

With the addition of some new tubeless wheels in the coming months and I should be able to down to the goal of 29lbs...

Just added Avid SD-7 levers, Peaty lock-on grips (stipped screws on the Ourys)..........oh, and installed an X-Fusion Enix in place of the Manitou Black. Just gotta set it up and take it for a ride. Shaved 3/4 of a pound off of the bike.
    Pics coming.

Bought one! Actually my 14yo son did two weeks ago. He was riding my other brand bike to school when we noticed a crack in the head tube. Got my frame replaced but he needed a safe bike right now.

By far the best value in an entry level disc bike. $89-129 cheaper than everyone else's and if he wants to upgrade a piece at a time he can without having to buy a new wheelset to convert to disc.

Alite 150 (flat grey/red) for $400 at a lbs. He's got over 50 miles on it commuting mostly sidewalk and some light trails so far. He loves it.

I got my rims trued on my softail a while back which allowed me to get the brakes adjusted right. (I had been attempting DIY trueing). Then my son decided he wanted to take it to college in AZ. I put street tires on it and he hauled it to Tempe. He better bring it back in good shape.

This was her old mountain bike that has found a new life as a commuter. She recently replaced this with a Tomac. It was a fun little project and it turned out really well. The psycho lime powder coat is an amazing color. After these pics were taken streamers and orange pedals were installed. Well I guess one of the pics shows the homemade streamers.

I paid for it. $989 at my local shop. I get to pick it up tomorrow. Forecast calls for more rain. Good thing I added fenders. It gets wet up here a lot in the summer. (South - central AK)
