I snapped these "post" race (Comfort, TX TMBRA 4/17/05) as i was unloading them outa the truck although it was dry and dusty there was a few stream crossings to make the bikes dirty. If you look closely in the second photo you'll notice the still leaking stans-no-tubes on the rear wheel, i rode the last 4 miles on the rim after a sharp pointy rock the stans-no-tubes did as well as it could but didn't seal up 100% :p Every time i get the thoughts of adding a hardtail XC racing bike to my corral of bikes the Racer X convinces me other wise.

I've had this bike for a few weeks now. I already like it a lot even though the shock is trashed. I've already submited my order and I'm just waiting for the call tag from Push.
I'm surprised at the steering being resonably quick even with a 100mm fork when it was designed for an 80mm.

    Cool looking ML.

First thing i did when i got my RX, was to buy another der hanger and put it in my camelbak. I also keep some zip ties in there.
Did you consider shortening the chain and making a SS out of the bike in order to ride out?

Mine or CDMC's? I'm not completely sure. I weighed the exact same group but on a different FS frame and it came out to about 25lbs. The only difference being the frame which is about 2.5 pounds lighter with the riddler puts it at about 22.5 and that feels about right when you lift it.

VTMike, you running 180s with Martas? is that the adapter you get from Magura? What rotor is that?

180 on the front Marta (it's a Louise rotor), 160 on the rear. I have a Rocky Mountain Element that also has Marta's, so I just did a caliper swap, both rear calipers on the HH for 180/160, and both front calipers on the Element for 160/140. No adapters for the 180, but I had a machinist take 1mm off of the caliper where it touches the fork. I also had to add 1mm spacers on the caliper with the 140 rotor. I've heard rumors about Magura offering 180 Martas for 2006. I'm actually just about to head out on my first ride since adding the Reba. I had a Duke U-Turn on there before, so I'm pretty excited to see how different the Reba feels. It's 1/2 lb lighter, and should be quite a bit stiffer. I think the Reba looks much better since I stripped all of the stickers off of it.

I'll have to try that at some point. I wish i found this out 2mos ago before i bought Hope Minis for the ML.

FWIW: I run 110psi/100psi on my Reba. I'm 165 riding weight.

Yep, its a large. I'm 5'11" with a 33" inseam and it feels perfect to me, much better than my medium Tracer (which always felt a bit cramped).

I was on the fence as to whether I should go with the med. or large, but my LBS convinced me to go with the large and I'm glad they did.

I also used the online fit computers at the Competitive Cyclist and Wrench Science, both of which backed up the advice I was getting from my LBS.

    That elusive Anodized RX100
Here is mine. Finally arrived about 3 weeks ago – was ordered 1st week in Jan. Had some damage while shipping but nothing that Chad at Red Barn couldn’t take care of. The down tube was heavily scratched at the Titus sticker but the sticker is so thick it kept the frame from being knicked except for in one tiny spot. At least the sticker is good for something because it's ugly. The images show the look w/o the sticker and I think it looks great that way! I do plan to replace the sticker more for protection than anything else. Well, I'll see if I can talk myself into putting them back on.

About 26.5lbs. With spec. pictured. I’m already thinking about how to trim a pound or two but that will need to happen as the bike parts begin to break. The Kendas Karma DTC which came on it are fast but I opted to swap out for the Mythos XC which have a lot more turning bite(side knobs) to them.
It rides great as I was expecting. Frame is very stiff. The XT HTII cranks at 175mm (longer than my old cranks) really give it a powerful feel - stiffness and stroke combined.
The bike still bobs lightly while on the "stiff" setting on the RP3 if pushed hard but it's very minor - worth pointing out but not complaining about. I skip the middle position only using firm and plush settings. It really is nice to adjust for the different trails we ride. It's a great feature. From basic flat trails to very technical stuff. It has given me a much more "safe" feeling on the especially taking those roots sticking out three inches on the downhills - don't get that "going over the bars if I don't slow down" feeling and lack of control. Not to mention I don't get the sh%^ kicked out of me by the trails.

    Overall spec:
    Frame: RX100, 2005
Fork: Fox RLC130 brought down to 100mm (BTW, love it!)
Bar: Titus rise (may put my Bonty flat bar on there instead)
Brake Levers: Avid Ultimates (upgrade courtesy of Chad)
Stem: 120mm 6 degree rise Titus
    Headset: Chris King
    Pedals: my old 959s
    Crankset: XT M760 (175mm)
Wheelset: DT XR4.1d, Onyx hubs, DT spokes
    Brakes: Avid Mech.
    Tires: Mythos XC K 2.1s
    Saddle: Terry Fly Ti (comfy)
    Fr. Der.: XT
    Rr. Der: SRAM x.9
Seatpost: Is Titus, will be Thomson setback (I like to lay down on the bike)

Last but NOT least, buy your next bike from Chad at Red Barn Bicycles. I know I will. His customer service has been great, his effort to make sure the bike was perfect for me at arrival was over the top, his pricing was not beat. So he gets caught up at work and can't answer my every email right away (there were probably too many!) all the time - no big deal at all. We all have those days. His care for the product and you is amazing.
    Thanks Chad!
    ;)

    bad pic, great bike.
I test rode a Large RX100 around a month ago and decided that I had to have one, but in medium, which more closely matched the Giant NRS I've been riding for the last couple of years.

So, I got one. I had Mike at Trails Edge call Titus on the 30th of June, had this frame within the week (I took what they had on hand that sounded like it would look good. Even Titus likes strong month end numbers)

    The build:
    '05 RX100, medium
Rock Shox REBA SL (so far, great fork and a good match)
    Thomson post and stem
Ritchey flat bars, TGV grips and bar ends
    Selle Italia Trans Am saddle
    Ritchey disc Pro wheelset
    SRAM 9.0 rear Drailleur
    XT front Drailleur
    SRAM 9.0SL shifters (8 Speed)
    SRAM 11-32 8 speed cassette
Magura Julie brakes (great modulation, but I'd really like something lighter AND more powerful)
    LX Crank and external BB
WTB Exiwolf 1.95 and 2.1 tires
    Tubes of non descript lineage...

First bike that I've owned in a long time that I haven't felt like I "settled" for. I'd have taken a better or more pics by now, but I've been busy riding it...

Bought the frame and fork a year ago April. Then selected every component. Been lovin' it ever since.
Here are 2 pics: Monarch Pass and South St. Vrain Cr. (no, I don't actually ride down the creek).

Here's my new ride. A bit rushed getting it all together, but its better (fit wise, I hope) than my XL Epic.

I've seen the error of my ways

Meet the new bike - an '05 frame purchased used in '05.

Same as old bike - the '02 sold in '04. The new one is 1 size larger.

    Switchblade after 1st Ride
Just got my "pre-owned" Switchblade in the mail. I took it for an ill-fated first ride (got a flat and crashed.) The only real complaint I have is the Magura Martas, while offering good modulation, were pretty weak in stopping power. I guess I should have tested them out on safer terrain first, but they just couldn't provide enough stopping power to even rub off speed on a sketchy downhill (leading to the crash.) I'll try bleeding them to see if it gets better. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the bike.
