Here's the bike with the new 180-gram DT Swiss XR-180 carbon shock I installed today. Dialing in the air pressure and adjusting the rebound was easy, and this shock has a lockout for sprinting and hard climbing that works perfectly.

This bike rides so well it amazes me.

The last upgrade for it that I'm working on is building a RockShox SID fork.

For anyone interested, there's a thread about the bike in the Weight Weenies forum, titled Ruegamer Uberlight carbon Titus Racer X.

    Finally finished!!!

Hey everyone, finally finished building my very first AM MTB. Been a long 6-month project, mostly dead time waiting for the damned fork (advice: do NOT pre-order a Marzocchi fork, get what's in stock. I ordered the 55 RC3 Evo Ti in July (no U.S. stock) and the US still didn't have any by February. Ridic!). I'm not gonna lie, she's beautiful as a virgin, not sure if I want to ride her . I also want to say that this would have never been possible without the support and guidance from this site; thanks to all that helped me out very much. I owe you all a beer. In case you notice, I'm a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan, so I had some fun with part colors to show a little pride. Anyhow, here she is:
    EG Large (measuring 13.6" BBH)
    Marzocchi 66 RC3 Evo Ti 180mm
    CCDB Air
XTR drivetrain and brakes w/ice rotors 203F/180R
    Xpedo pedals
    CK headset and BB
    Easton Havoc wheels/stem/seatpost
    Schwalbe Fat Alberts (tubeless rear)
    Token seatpost clamp
    ODI grips
    Loaded Precision straight bar
    Terry saddle (for now)

Had a few upgrades, shot with the training wheels though, should've snapped it with the I9s. Time for a repost...

Here's my El Guapo... NOT FINISHED YET. Waiting for a Durolux RC2. And I just got the 30.9 reverb today.

Not really bling blingy but it's a great bike thus far. Still adjusting to the frame's suspension characteristics and the Monarch's feel though.

    Titus Bike Pr0n-p4pb9604167.jpg

BB's pretty low with a 150mm - it's at 12.5", hoping it gets to hit 13 point something inches when I have the Durolux on it. The big diff for me, aside from the suspension, is the weight. DANG it's light. Dropped a pound or two from my GT Force with the same components. And the geo is just great - EVEN if I still haven't felt the 67* of the HTA.

Went from 2x9 to 1x9 and did a shake down run along with some suspension tuning. Here she is in her final form. I don't run a GoPro all the time.

Thanks guys! I'm blushing lol it truly is a great bike, can do it all!
Have a few ideas in mind, need to order some parts and fine-tune the set-up. I'll do a complete post in the EG Set-Up thread soon. My old set-up is in there with the white Marz 66.
I'm also rebuilding an old MotoLite, finally got new pivot bearings so it's go-time to get that running!

Beautiful ti frame. Are they pretty rare? I mainly see the aluminum and now carbon versions of the Rockstar.

I bought it just as On One/Planet X took over and this was the 2nd last medium they had in stock. I'm not sure how many Ti frames were built up (maybe someone with a bit of inside knowledge could tell us), but I haven't seen any others around.

No official measurement as of yet, but haven't had any issues with it.

Just picked up an ebay ti Rockstar frame, and built it up with some unworthy spare parts. So far, this thing ROCKS...no pun intended.

Soon to be purchased 02' Quasi-Moto

    Hello All,

I'm looking for any good info and opinions on my soon to be purchased 02' Titus Quasi-Moto bike! Here is what I know:

It is a cross between downhill and cross country. It has cross country frame but bomber forks that lock out for uphill climbs. Most cross country forks have about 4 inch travel these have about 9 inch travel. Much much much lighter than downhill bike. Price will be $350. How does it sound/look?

I'm currently riding a 95' Cannondale F600! I love the bike! But I'm looking for a FS Bike now!

That fork doesn't have anywhere near 9 inches of travel. More like 4 or 5 inches. Hard to tell exactly how much travel it has without knowing the specific model. $350 is decent as long as the bike doesn't need much work outside of a basic tune up.

Sup guys, just figured I'd post my bike here since this thread and subforum seem pretty dead. I LOVE my titus, been riding it for 2 seasons now and it has not let me down yet. I use it for a trail bike and have ridden some gnarly terrain on it. Heres a pic of it from last year just after I built it.

It's got some higher rise bars, XT front disk brakes, crankbrothers candy pedals, a KS i7r seat dropper on it now, with more goodies on the way.

I'm very very please with my rockstar and the ride is really awesome, track like a train and is not a boat anchor like others without braking the wallet. [IMG]http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/03/ybapuqyh.jpg[/

Protsi, that thing is awesome.. and LIGHT. I bet that thing flys on singletrack and mobs on people in the technical climbs. Mines sub 30# using a bathroom scale, but I have not been able to accurately measure it yet.

Although with it being a trail bike most of the parts on it are on the AM/trail spectrum and made to take serious abuse. I've got a dropper seatpost on the way for it too.. so excited about that one.

Are there any if the old school Titus riders still hanging out in this thread? I'm still riding my old Racer X 29er, and it's still one of the best handling FS 29ers around.

Some damn fine machines posted here. Just got a dropper post and I've been loving it. It becomes so second nature when you get used to it, I seriously use the thing 20+ times a ride.

Me sending it on my 09 Titus motolite at the bike park, the rock on the left is the lip. Terrible screen cap, but you get the idea.

So far I've ridden this bike in many different conditions, has yet to fail me.
