Very clean build. You might need to do something about that chain though.

All those gears kinda make it look bogged down. Put WI eccentric hub on the back and you will stop dropping your chain and clean up the look quite a bit!

Here are a couple of pictures of my 20" YBB. The main changes from these pictures are swapping out the 80mm Sid Team for a 100mm Reba Team and throwing a 2.35 tire on up front and a 2.2 on the back. If everything goes ok I plan on getting an adapter for the frame and going to discs front and rear at the end of this year.

I can't stand moots the company. They were absolutely abhorrent to deal with. As soon as I got my moots, I stripped the decals off. Out of protest against them, I will not post a picture of my bike, and I won't tell people that it's a nice bike.

It's a shame steering people away from moots, but dealing with moots made me wish I bought a Seven.

Just curious.....what was the problem? I've honestly never heard of someone having anything but an awesome experience with the folks at Moots.

    1) Moots was insistent I go through a dealer that had a terrible fit procedure. I ended up getting a custom fit somewhere else because the dealer they recommended sucked so hard.
    2) Even after I let them know their recommendedation sucked, Moots wouldn't let me buy directly from them even though I'm only a couple of hours from Steamboat.
    3) After sending them my custom frame specs it took Moots two months to get back to me just to say they'd recommend a stock Moots frame. More than three months after that, I got my frame. This was after they told me their manufacturing backlog was only 4-8 weeks.
    4) Most importantly, from my initial contact with Moots, their attitude was condescending and lame.

Eight decals wasn't a lot to remove, but removing them helped rid some of the bad vibes I feel when I take my dream bike out.. It's a bummer to save nearly 10 years for your dream bike and have any bad feelings about riding it.

The ride isn't good enough to overcome the fact that I was so put off by moots attitude, I wish I bought a Seven or an Eriksen.

    Holy shZt!

cavani: that is the most unique Moots Mooto YBB I've ever seen! That rigid titanium unicrown fork sets off the whole package. Going with the pink accents like the King x Hope Tech takes balls and even more so, running the Brooks grips/saddle. (I didn't like those grips at all, the leather donuts, spoke threading system, logically sounded genius, but performed inadequate)

    Thanks!
The brooks leather grips are a bit large but will be better once they have bin used a little bit more.

Damn shame about your experience Fugger. They do make a really sweet bike, but

    3) After sending them my custom frame specs it took Moots two months to get back to me just to say they'd recommend a stock Moots frame.
That right there would have sent me packing.

I own a 2006 Moots Compact I picked up on e-bay...totally love it, even more so because of what I paid. (ps. I'll update the iPhone pic with a better one tomorrow)

    Moots Pscyhlo-X with S&S Couplers

I know this is MTBR and all, but I didn't want to create a new acct on the sister site. Besides, this ride has been in the dirt more than the rest in my stable (of late). Rolled Mr. Toad's in Tahoe on it. I've beefed it up a bit with some MTB parts...

In response to Fugger's experience, I believe you can fault an individual or process but not the company as a whole. I have a Ti 29er from a competitor (in CO), and in researching/reading forum's, they too were slammed for customer service. Turns out they went thru a difficult period of transition and lost some ground. Still turned out a quality product, just couldn't manage/set expectations. Over time they improved, but it took alot of constructive feedback. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. As for Moots, they will struggle at times to meet demand and expectations, but the guys in the shop will always put their passion into the frames/parts. I had some challenges with one salesperson but he is no longer on staff. Those types get weeded out quickly.
Hopefully, you can look past the transgression and enjoy the ride. After all, lots of folks would give their left you-know-what to have your sled. Enough of the stump speech, I'm gonna go roll some dirt!!!

Just built this up. I switched from a YBB to this. My ass was waaay too sore from new englands rocks and roots. This is like riding a pillow. Almost everything on the bike i bought used except for the bashring and the front/rear derailleur. Some parts were also from the YBB

Cool-blue Rhythm My "old school is cool" Moots in her "road warrior" mode.

1998 Rigor' w/ RF Turbine (ISIS) crank + SKF BB / '01 Marz Bomber fork / CrossMax wheelset + 1.5" Xeniths / Avid Ti brakes / Brooks B-17 Imperial / and so on...

However, the dirt is calling so my other wheels and clip-ins will be gracing her shortly...

...Also, yes this is my first post -- I tried to post an introductory post in the General Forum first, but I received a "must have at least 5 posts to start a new thread" notice. Oh well...

BTW, if anyone is looking to swap their 17" Rigor frame for a 19-20" frame (mine's a 19.5"), LMK. Mine works, but I could use a lower top tube.
