Looking forward to seeing what you get. Scott is on my short list of builders for a steel 29er.

Not to jack the thread, does anyone know how the Deda ZeroUno steel compares to Reynolds 853 or True Temper OX Platinum?

I have always been fond of the frame that says "Jason_paint_booth" and in the past, spoke to Doug about duplicating this finish for me, which he said he could. I just like the color combo's and they way they blend together. I am also rather fond of panels too.

That looks awesome Green Monk. I can't wait to see it when you have it built up as well as ride reports.

    Is that a 29er?

Did Scott build that with the Ventana rear end? It looks like it to me.

That is probably going to be my next bike if so.

Barring any unforseen problems I hope to finish building my Quiring 29er steel hardtail tomorrow.

I also want to compliment you Sunburst576 on a nice lloking bike.

Scott is great to work his - he listens and does what you want, but also offers a lot of advice based on his experience. The paint is the amazing part.

I know my experience working with Scott on my frame was topnotch and I will be adding another to my bikes sooner then later!

Those are three very sweet looking rides MichiganClydesdale! Out of curiousity how tall are you? The cross and mountain bike look to be pretty big based on the headtube length. Is the mountain bike a 29er? If so the tires look tiny compared to the frame.

    Awesome thread!

This is an awesome thread, I love Scott Quiring's bikes, and I love working (I do work at a bike shop, and we do sell his bikes, so I am a little biased) with him. Here is a bike he built up for a buddy of mine recently:

That is a full suspension 29r with the Ventana rear. It is absolutely amazing. We've ridden it on a few trails over the past month, and this thing is DIALED! We are gonna be rocking this badboy at the Lumberjack next month too.

That is a sweet looking bike sony. Your buddy is really lucky. I am guessing it is Ti. What size rear tire will the Ventana rear end handle? I mainly ask because I am thinking of having Scott build me a full sus Ti 29r next year hopefully!

Here is the frame I just finished building up today!

I have two from Scott, plus I had a Q-Ball. Great work quality and a great guy. His racing and riding background adds another dimension to his designs.

The full suspension tandem is actually an aluminum frame, not ti. We went aluminum for the lateral rigidity of it, and to do this bike in titanium would be astronomically (as opposed to just super-duper) expensive.

As for tire width, we currently have a 1.9 Karma on the back, but we have it hooked up to a Velocity P-35 rim, so it is a wide 1.9 tire, you know? It looks like there is plenty of clearance though. I actually have a titanium 29r FS on order for myself right now from him, and should have it in about a month or so, so I will tell you for sure how much tire clearance there is. I plan on running 29x2.1 Maxxis Aspens on NoTubes ZTR Race rims.

I can imagine how much that frame cost. I can understand going with aluminum as well. I look forward to seeing pictures of your bike when it is done. Now to start saving money for another frame. I wonder how much I could get for one of my kidneys?

You really can't beat Scott's Pricing on a custom Steel frame. You get a lot bang for your buck.
