One suggestion I would like to give you... Mount your tire labels parallel to your Valve Stems. So if your valve stem is at 6 your tire white wall / label is at 12. It's kind of an unspoken industry standard but it really makes the bikes look good!

Other than that your bike makes me drool man!

Love the look you got goin on. I might be rocking a Rock Shox judy for the time being until I can get a compatible disc shock and front wheel. I also dig the dog! Goes well with the bike :)

I will be using the Race Face Ride XC X Type Crankset BlueSkyCycling.com has a deal on them for 45.00ish plus shipping.

Well... I built a commuter bike with my old Reken frame. Before any of you guys call blasphemy, I will tell you that the Reken held up through some serious abuse. However, the frame has been hanging up in my garage since I built an all-mountain bike... so I figured I'd use it to cruise around town.

It went from this...

To this...

Cool. I'm running a Specialized (don't know the model) 26x 2.2 on the rear and Kenda on the front. The Specialized is good but it's older and it slips on climbs some. I need to upgrade the rear. Let me know how you like them.

I just switched the Front & Rear so we'll see how the skinnier tire does in the back.

Please forgive my picture i'll get some better ones soon. I've had a case of the shaky hands lately when taking pics ( I should use my tripod ) and it's been pretty cloudy out so I don't have good lighting to work with.

It rides great with a rigid fork. Your shoulders are sore the first couple of rides but after that you can hardly tell. In Maine there is a lot of rocks and roots so big tires are very helpful and I run 2.3" tires, and they soak up bumps well.

I have gotten a lot better at technical climbs since getting rid of the suspension fork and it rails corners in flow type single track.

Cool. My fork I got on my Reken doesn't climb well. It's the RockShox 30 TK. I'm a little bit of a heavier rider at 217 and 5'8" so that might add to it. I'm trying to get down below 200 though. I might have to get a stiffer spring in my fork.

I have pondered going rigid though. Esp on my 29'er SS.
