    old school chro-mo frame question

i had a question that i wanted to pose to a forum before i go visit the guys at sycip. i have a 94 rigid chro-mo specialized rockhopper (20.5" frame), w/ bosses for traditional canti brakes. i've replaced the canti's with v-brakes about 8 years ago, and they work fine.

my question was that if i took it to a place like sycip, would they be able to weld onto the existing frame mounts for disc brakes? is that even feasible? one issue (other then alignement) might be that the frame, fork were not designed to withstand those stresses.

    thanks for your thoughts!
