    New Chumba Evo

Hi, new member to MTBR here,
I just finished building my 2008 chumba Evo and I love it!!! thanks Brian.
This is my first full suspension bike, My other is a Rocky hammer race....probably going to be a loaner bike for friends now or for XC.

I live in Vancouver, north shore riding galore. Have not had a chance to do any serious riding but did the local watershed this past week and compared to my rocky the confidence level a has totally gone up! Can't wait till whistler, this bike can go over anything.

Really don't have an issues with the bike other than it doesn't climb as good as my hardtail.. it climbs well enough to get me where I need to get plus have clipless on the rocky. I did have a question about brake rotors, I tried putting a 203mm rotor on the rear but would not fit, anyone else have this issue? it hits the bar opposite the chainstay bar just enough to scratch...no biggie i'll just stick a 185mm on the rear.

I love my Chumba so glad I chose this over the nomad or heckler or norco six. I would totally make the same choice again, Chumba if your reading this get some dealers up here, and thanks for all your help and support and excellent product.

    i'll be posting pics soon.

Pics would be nice but I'm curious about the 203mm rear rotor issue.

I have an older Evo, 2006, and I originally built it up with that two ring holzfeller crank you've got on there, with a howitzer bb. I could never get the chainline the way I wanted it, and I continually was bending/getting hairline cracks in my derailleur hangers. This would in turn screw up my shifting on the rear cassette.

I know chumba has beefed up their derailleur hangers since, but I went to a shimano xt crank set up before they did this, and that eliminated the problem. Maybe the new d. hanger is sturdy enough to eliminate the problem too, I don't know since I went to a saint rear d (super strong spring, acts like a chainguide so I never drop chain, even on super bumpy dh).

Not bashing Chumba at all, I love my Evo, just shredded Downieville dh on it and fell in love all over again! Just wanted to let you know about issues I had with that holzfeller set up and solutions I found.
Nice bike btw, I second the John Deere color scheme, me like!
