I love the feel of the travel in my revelation. I do, however, miss having a through axle. I get some rubbing of the tire on the arch during hard turns or slow off camber stuff. I do ride at 235 lbs. so that "might" have something to do with it.

I think I remember seeing that the 09 rev. will be available with the maxle lite. That would be a great choice.

Let us know what you get and how you like it.

I was thinking of the new Marz. 44 but settled on the new Magura Thor. It's got the 20mm maxle lite option as well.

RS seems to have there stuff together at this time and is no slouch.

Fox has done awesome coming from a suspension only background they really understand the Boing but have been taken over by a corporation so the future is

If your riding aggressive you definitely want a through axle, no question!!

Lovin' the look. Let us know how it rides. Do you know if it has similar innards to the '07 and '08?

I notice the big betty. I have had problems with my big betty rubbing on the arch. How much clearance do you think it has?

OMG, this thing kills it! Im not sure if its all the tech going on in this fork, or the fact that i went from coil to air. i took this thing out and beat the hell outta it! it kicked much arse!! I love the poploc feature too. MOTION CONTROL RULZ!!

*Looks like I have about 1/2-3/4" in clearance. I buhlee this fork will clear 2.5's. Plenty of room for Ole Big Betty!

Any idea what the difference between the '09 Revelation and last year's Pike is (besides the Maxle lite)? It looks exactly the same except for the stickers. I knew they were discontinuing the Pike but I didn't realize it was going to be in name alone.

only things i heard was a beefier crown/lowers and new guts + Maxle Lite
Basically the Pike air will go away in '09. The Revelation will replace that version of the Pike.

I don't quite understand the weights of the new Rev's... Seems like the 426 dual air weighs more then the Pike 454 dual air did when it was available? At least if the quoted weight of 4.5lb's (NSMB) is correct.

I have a 08 Pike 454 coil and my bike feels a bit "front heavy". I think the fork would be the easiest place to save weight, actually the only other places I can think off is the DHX Air (I have an rp23 on the way) and my wheelset (DT440 / EX5.1). I love the wheels, so I don't think I'll change them just to get lighter hubs. I just don't feel like changing the fork for a small weight benefit. :P

You are going to love that RP23!!! And IMHO, I would stay with the wheelset you have! You cant be weighing THAT much... I have a large XCL (RP23, Hope Pro II/EX 5.1, etc) with some minor upgrades and im in @ 29-30.
I think i actually dropped weight by going from the Vanilla RLC coil to the Rev....

I'm wondering if there would be any sence in going from a coil Pike to a 2008 Revelation Dual Air... I could get one for a very cheap price, and don't have a need for U-Turn. Actually, I would not end up paying anything in between from the Pike...

I first ran Pike coil from my old bike for couple of months, then switched to Pike dual air.
Weight saving would be the only real reason, imo.

Weight savings would be my primary reason. I also think I'm in between springs. I get a bit less then 20mm sag which is about 15%. I think the next spring down would be too soft?
