    Wilton Woods today ...

I am on the trail as I write this (iPhone). 66 and sunny. Trails are in great shape, at least what I saw before I snapped my derailleur hanger a couple hundred yards into the ride. Damn !!!

I carry a spare for each of the three mtbs in my pack, and have a couple more in the garage. Nice to have them "in stock" and not have to wait for them.

$18 is pretty good. The ones for my Rocky Mountain were $24 and I broke one at least once a month.

if you bring along a small chain breaker tool, you could rig the bike as a singlespeed and save the ride. i did that once when my wife broke her Der. Hanger on a log.
