Riding in a deluge = bad for the trails. Avoid it when possible. If its raining, its TM time, you'll still get exercise and you'll do a ton of good and save your drive train from the sandy cruddy soil of CT that'll be like wet sand paper on your chain, derailleur, cassette, and chainrings. So save money and the trails and don't ride in or after the rain.
