Danbury new trail build day - September 22nd - 8:45am
We will be putting in the first shovels at Farrington Open Space in Danbury as part of a BRAND NEW trail system we're developing there with the City.
FC NEMBA will have the tool trailer there from 8:45am-12:30am so come on down and help us get this awesome project started.
Bring gloves, boots, work clothes you are ok with getting dirty, water, and bug spray. We'll have coffee and donuts and lunch provided.
We will meet at the i84 Exit 1 commuter lot and go from there.
GPS: 126-188 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy, Danbury, CT 06811

Its come to our attention that I-84 will be closed starting at exit 1 in CT, this will create some significant traffic. Our 8:45am Sunday start should put us in before the traffic.
Meeting point WILL CHANGE to the new parking lot at Farrington Woods:
The NEW paking lot at Farrignton Woods.
Lot access is about 400 yards west (towards NY) from the Commuter lot on Mill Plain Rd, cross the Railroad bridge on the right and head straight back about 100 yards, lot is on the left.
Location is here, just west of the Mill Plain & Saw Mill Rd Intersection off Exit 1 in Danbury:
This is exciting stuff. Farrington will be one of the few MOUNTAIN BIKER designed & built sustainable trail systems in CT.
Ride out of Windwing in Ridgefield after the work session.
If you have questions, let us know via Email (firstname.lastname@example.org) / Facebook / Twitter (@FCNEMBA). Thanks - FCNEMBA
From the South suggest following route:
- Rt 7 to 1st Hwy Exit at Miry Brook Rd.
- LEFT on to Miry Brook Rd
- BEAR LEFT on to George Washington Highway (AFTER Wooster School)
- RIGHT on to Ridgebury RD
- Ridgebury RD becomes Saw Mill Rd after a slight left bend
- LEFT on Mill Plain/US 6/US202 at Traffic light AFTER i-84 overpass
- IMMEDIATE RIGHT across the railroad bridge to New Parking lot
Is this near or inclusive of the area once known as Tarrywild? (or wile). Haven't ridden in Danbury since the late 1990's, but that was the place to ride back in the day (you could ride fahnstock back then as well).
Completely new parcel couple miles west from Terrywile on other side of Rt. 7.
