Big River RI (or elsewhere) weekend of 10/20

    Hey fellow riders,

I'm headed down to the Newport area this weekend and would love to check out the trails in the area. How are the trails right now? Is anyone getting out early am Saturday or Sunday and would take an out-of-towner? I've been riding in Maine where it is pretty rooty and rocky, and like to keep a relatively quick pace if that matters.

    Josh

There is a small group ride going off at 0800 on Saturday morning in BR. they are meeting at the white house off of division road. Take exit 7 off of 95 and go east for a half a mile and you will be there

I will be riding on Sunday but I am not an early morning rider. More of an afternoon rider

Thanks for info. I hope I can meet up with some folks. My schedule may keep me off the bike til Sunday, so I'll keep a lookout for riders. any specific trails I should make sure I ride?
    Thanks.

    Trails

If you are going by yourself I would suggest Aracadia as BR is a maze of trials

The I 95 trial is a must. (south side)

And the Mt Tom trial is the most techy and would be great tomorrow (north and south side)

There is also a place called the ledges if you want to session some big rollers (south side)

Rock trail (i call it URI trail due to all the signage) (North side)

Arcadia looks great-- I just might give that area a shot tomorrow am, but it will be much earlier. Thanks for the info.
