    6$ Ebay Stems

    These are mint, only bought one to see if i'd like the length but it will stay on the bike only thing is they painted it after they tapped the holes so you need to re-tap it if your fussy. Free shipping too!

    Sounds like you bought a renthal stem? The casting actually looks really good.

    Although stems might all look similar there are big variations in the quality of the metal. Don't get me wrong, I've used cheap stems often, and I certainly don't think you need to spend a fortune to get a good one, but there are limits. Would I trust my life to one that cost less than a packet of bagels? Don't think so.

    Why don't you just up your budget a little bit and get a Hylix stem for around 15$? You can even get one with Titanium bolts for like 25$ and those ones are already quite light weight too. I have tried two of those over the past three months with no issues so far.
