    thinking about a change

I am thinking about changing my frame from a mtb to a cyclocross one. I just wonder if I can use my XT drivetrain on a cyclocross. Any suggestions?

If you go flat-bar, sure, otherwise you will have to get some 9-speed STI road levers.

You might also want to investigate the largest chainring your front derailleur can handle (assuming the clamp and pull will work on the cyclocross frame), though you might still be able to make it work beyond spec.

Just keep spinning. Just keep running. Just keep paddling.
    Just keep moving forward.

You don't need STI, you can get a set of downtube or barend shifters. Nothing says you can't mount your flat bar shifters to the top of the drop bars either.
