    Need sizing advice

I'm in the process of building up a commuter. I've been primarily a mountain biker so I'm not real familiar with proper sizing on road bikes.

I'm 5'10" and found a beautiful 57cm Desalvo that I bought and began to build up. After the fact I found out the top tube is 55.5cm and not the 57cm that I thought it was.

Will this be too small to be a comfortable ride or am I over-thinking it?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

It would not be too small. Road bikes have shorter top tubes than mountain bikes. On a road bike you run drop bars. Your body is long and low. The hoods of the drop bar should be more about where the flat bar grips on your mountain bike are.

I would not think too small at all I would think too big.
I'm 5'10" with a small inseam and a long torso. I ride a 52 to 54. In anycase you should (will) feel more stretched on a road bike than you do on a mountain bike but I think you can get used to it.
