    Mongoose Hilltopper

I have the chance to nab one of these for about 50 bones.
Want to turn it into a commuter.
    Chromoly frame.
    Im not the lightest guy.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with this bike.

From what ive researched it seems to be worth the $50.

I plan on changing the tires and maybe even paint it a neon green.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

Just make sure it's of proper size. What feels good puttering around for a test ride might not be feeling so good after a few extra miles.

The bikes were a good value back in the day - about $330.00 new, comparable to other bikes in the $350 to $375 range. The frame was about bomb-proof. One model year (1993 I think.) came with some awful brakes. The name of them was "Proponent" and I think they were made by Lee Chi.
    Too many bikes!
