    Just what is this quantitative thing called "commute-well-being"? A chart with recognized things like mpg, KWH, or inches of snow is fine standing alone. This needs a bit of "splainin". Hopefully, it is an accurate unbiased depiction of commuters' happiness in Portland and not someone's imagination at work. Portland drivers are presumably a bit more cyclist aware than average so I would expect cyclists there to be more comfortable than in many places.

    I would think that our happiness lies in defeating terrain, traffic and injury every day.
