    Giant ToughRoad SLR 2

Seriously looking into this bike as new commuter. I was convinced buying the seek 3 but this looks like better geo, lighter and better value. I'd have to try the tires before keeping or changing them.

Just seems like a no-brainer compared to the Seek and Bad Boy.

    Thoughts?

I am commuting on a Salsa Fargo that I love. Some of the primary reasons are the room for good sized tires, no low end suspension fork to worry about, and the ability to set it up for commuting, bike packing, or riding single track.

It seems to me the ToughRoad hits a lot of those check boxes at a decent price. Maybe add a Jones bar for more grip options?

My friends wife was looking to buy him a new bike for his birthday with an $800 budget and I saw the ToughRoad while looking for options.

Stopped at the giant dealer today and put some cash down on one of these.

Nothing like getting new bike! Stoked!
