    Fork for commuting...

I just fixed up a beater bike that I got off craigslist, which I intend to ride around town for store trips and such. The only real weakness is the fork--it's got an old worn out weak-spring suspension fork that needs to go. I'm debating between these two:

Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork - Bike Forks / Headsets / Stems

    RockShox XC30TK Coil 100 26" 9QR Black TurnKey Crown Mounted Adjust Rim/Disc

The sidewalks around here are not in the best shape, and sometimes I go off curbs and through some dirt. The rigid would work, but the suspension might make for a more comfy ride.

Thanks to the extensive feedback in this thread, I decided to go with the rigid fork. I have high hopes for it.
