    I don't live in a place with bike lanes or wide roads, so it always seems crazy to me that people just fling their doors wide open (even when I see it happen). It sounds like a good way to lose your door to a passing car.

    Huh, nothing about positioning yourself 3' from the parked vehicles and constantly looking for movement in the cars. Remind drivers to look before they push/kick their doors open in front of you by saying something.
