    Commuting...Flying saucer style!

Has anyone thought of using flashing lights like from party lights suppliers to wrap your frame & on you helmet & clothes? (string lights etc.) Just a thought...

It's one thing to be high-vis to drivers, but bewilderment and awe just adds to your safety out there.(in my opinion)

Last December I did Christmas lights. It was kinda poorly put together, I'm going to do it much better this year.

It took a little getting used to, the first few rides I kept seeing the the lights out of the corners of my eyes or the road lit up beneath me and for an instant thought a car was bearing down on me from behind.

How about the flashers that thread onto your valve stems. They flash different colors as the wheels spin. You can find them at WalMart in the automotive section.
Of course they only fit schrader valves, so if you run prestas, you will need adapaters.

I've seen a few tall bikes with a tonne of fairy-lights (hooked up to a Moto battery) riding round the streets. When I was chatting with the guy riding, he said the cops tried to book him for not having 'lights' on his bike! But he quite obviously didn't get a ticket.

    There's this product here
