    Meta SX Info?

Does anybody know what the final geometry is on the new Meta SX? Commencal's store says available in 49 days (I think, my french is awful), and still haven't been able to find any hard numbers on the geometry. Does anyone know if this bike will accept a coil shock?

Yeah, I've seen that before. It's nice to know the angles, but I haven't seen any other geo info (TT length, BB height, etc.) anywhere. For a bike that's supposed to be available in about 6 weeks, there's a remarkable lack of info out there. The AM geo looks really nice, so I'm very curious about the SX!

Edit: Just checked the site again, looks like availability is 57 days now.

Did a quick comparison to the last prototype RFX. Might as well compare vaporware to vaporware Pure speculation, but looks like the SX has a lower BB and same HA with 10mm less fork. SA, TT, and wheelbase look pretty close. Looks good to me!

What do they mean by a bottom bracket height of 3.0? what measurement is that in?

It's a European brand, these specs were posted to a german forum from the official german importer. So I guess it's 3cm = 300mm = 11.811 inches. Quite low bb.

And yes, I too find it cumbersome that the specs are so hard to find. And I wonder if Commençal plans some last minute geometry changes to the frame.

Did you see the short bike check video on the Meta AM on vimeo with the added english subtitle? COMMENCAL META AM, bike check UK on Vimeo

FYI: The two Absalon brothers won the La Réunion Megavalanche on their SX's last weekend.

If I understood Commençal's comment a while ago in facebook correctly, they will soon publish such check on the SX.

My understanding is that it's bottom bracket "drop" relative to the axles. Since different sized tires will raise or lower the BB, it's more "accurate" to use drop. In this case, the center of the BB will be 3mm above the axles. If it were a negative number, it would be below the axles. (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong)

mtbtires.com lists the radius of a Maxxis Ardent 2.4 at 343mm, so with that tire, the unsagged BB would be 346mm or 13.6".

thanks coolhand! I would have never thought of that. I was trying to figure it out and 3cm doesn't equal 300mm, it would be 30mm so that's why I was super confused but that drop thing makes total sence!

Oops. Just ignore my math and refer to the original numbers.

Thanks that will be nice. I've looked at the geo charts off all and they all look very similar, I was wondering if any one had any first hand experience they could attest too or if I should just put a picture of all of them up on a dart board and give it a toss, haha on a different thread a guy told me to pic the one I thought looked coolest and go with it since they all are nice bikes and a mere mortal like my self probably couldn't tell the difference and would be happy with any of them, haha probably true

SX looks hot, but one color? Other concerns, exposed shock, possible issues with internal cables?

The internal cable routing is awesome. Gives the bike a very clean look. It's the same design as the V3 and have had no issues with the cable routing or the open shock on the V3. My SX has yet to arrive still.
