There is just something about that elongated seat tube look, that I just don't like...... Turn that frame into like a 10" seat tube and it would look good.

All in all though it is an "OK" looking bike

    Yes.. kinda...

Basically you can say a Giant DH team got drunk in a bar and did the dirty with A DHR... out popped the Supreme.

It has it's Dad's frame, and it's mom's junk in the trunk.

If it's anything like the '08 it'll be real nimble/flickable.. Well it's derived from the Mini-DH which is basically a 6" travel version of the DH.. I don't really understand the naming thing.. it says it's going to be called the Supreme but also says they're getting rid of the Supreme part and calling in the Mini-dh.. alot of conflicting info.. the current '08 Supreme Mini-DH used to be called the Supreme FR, and Supreme 6 before being called the Supreme Mini-DH.. Maybe it's going to be called the Supreme under the new naming scheme and the current Supreme DH will still be called the Supreme DH? I don't really get it.. but whatev..

The DHR would have had to be the drunk one....

P.s. No hate to the giant. I have one on my short list of frames for my 7" setup....

According to the latest issue of Dirt, which featured the Athertons R&Ding the 09 prototype, Commencal will up the rear travel to 8".

There was this funny bit about how they took the bright lime green proto Garcia rides and gave it to the Athertons, they kept on crashing up and down the mountain. The mechs swapped out the rear triangle to a longer one as per the brothers' request and apparently, they've gained about an estimated 10sec diff. from the previous year's model....

...Will this be what finally makes Gee more of a match for S.H. this season?

edit: yes, I know that prototypes used by pro racers might not be exactly what we, as the end users, will see. But it was still an interesting article to read. I've always been a fan of the Athertons and Commencal as well. Cheers!

    It is doss?
Now I have heard someting new.
Always liked the look of the mini Dh but thought they felt a little heavey, it might just be the marzocchi fork and other cheaper components. I would love to try one with lighter quality parts.
    I just want to ride.

    Sverre,
How do you like the Roco coil on the Mini-DH? I'm debating between a Roco coil and air. I'm leaning towards the air to keep the weight down, but the coil is a decent bit less $$.

    Hi!
I really like the Roco coil on this bike. It's stable and really active. I was also considering the air, but went for the coil, as it performs so much better in steeper terrain. Air's tend to need some force to get going, and when riding steeps trails at speed there is not much weigth at the rear of the bike. This makes most full sussers with air shocks in the rear to feel like hardtails in this situation. But of cource, the wight savings are positive. Especially as this frame is no ligth weigther.
    Weight as pictured is 15,6kg.

I ordered my frame today. Should have it thurs. I'm still undecided on shock. I have a Roco WC on my DH bike and really like it, but I'm not sure if I want that much plush on my Play bike. I'll be using this bike in our new "Trail Bike" DH class. We pretty much race the full DH course with small diversions around the most dangerous sections. We do two runs with cumulative time for Trail Bike and the best of two runs for full-on DH. This will also be my play bike for long shuttles, DJ, and casual days at the resorts.

Sounds like you´ve chosen the right bike Scott. I rode mine with a light dh setup when the chairlifts where still open. Pretty similar to the pic, but with bigger brake rotors, headtube sleeve rotated for slackness, seat tilted back and lowered and maxxis 2,5´s f&r. Sooo much fun to ride that bike with that setup in the more tight and tech trails :-)

Post a pic when you get her done.

    - I am 5' 11" I have ridden both and would go with the l/xl for the wheel base. Stand over is no issue. The bike also has a front mech post and routing for it. There are a bunch of riders out there that use these as trail bikes.

    Hello,

I changed my commençal mini dh 6.10 2008, to make it more polyvalent. It remains only to change the hand bar by a black chromag OS.
