Monarch Crest trail to Starvation Creek option ?

Can anyone recommend a good map to try and hit Starvation Creek down off the standard MCT route? GPS file would be awesome. Even a good verbal description of how to do this would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

The "latitide 40 maps" Salida and Buena vista map is pretty good.

Perusing garmin connect or strava should make the route obvious. Even google maps for that matter. Pretty easy route finding IMO.

Lots easier nowadays. Used to be that the Forest Service would put a sign at the top of the trail and then the locals would take it down. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I think I looked at the vapor gpx files in google earth, and carried a map with me, but found it fairly easy. That was last fall, I don't remember if signs were up or not.

Rode it yesterday! Monach crest/Starvation creek/Rainbow

The only problem with Starvation Creek is at the bottom you are hungry for more.

That what the Rainbow is for. I rode up Silver creek to the Rainbow trailhead and across
to 285 and back to Poncha spgs.

    42 miles, 2800' up, 6450' down.

    excellent!
