    High Country Storm Racing

Today's agenda held a ride from Molas Pass to Cascade. The weather held some wicked Thunder and Lightening on it's Agenda. We decided to give 'er anyway. Fortunatly, we emerged only slightly wet and super stoked to have ridden another awesome section of the CT right on the fringe of some burley lightening.

    Dude.......weather's fine.

    Right???

    Totally!

I left my sun glasses about 6" from where this photo was taken......epic failure.

Stupid flowers. I can't get enough of the Columbines. What a kickass flower.

    Alpine stoke.

Still some hero corn to be had up here. Sick line mang.

From this point the trail is largely downhill for several miles. No self respecting mtn. biker would stop on this last section to shoot photos. Needless to say our DH was made super exciting by the very active lightening storm right across the valley.

    Another good day.

    Nice!

I was a bit further down the trail from your guys and did the Blackhawk loop. Started at 1:15pm so I was definately scared of that black thundercloud. No worries, though, dry as can be...except on the drive back home.

If I was worth a sh!t I'd get up earlier in the AM and ride that section you did.

    You guys suck

    No really, you suck.
Just couldn't wait until I got back. I would have thought you would just sit around and wait for me to return, what was I thinking

And with Whopper on the fat bike, I know I could have kept up.

    Bolam this weekend?

Maybe for the first few miles, then you would have ran home to mommy when the lightning struck 100 yds away
I am glad BGB wore his tin foil hat, otherwise I would have been scared myself
There was constant lightning /thunder across the valley near spud hill on the whole descent...you should have seen the lemmings(hikers) running for cover off of engineer!
