    Grand Junction ?

So I am coming up for the Epic Rides event in a few weeks to help them out and do some riding. Issue is I will be carpooling up with them and will not have a car. We will be staying in GJ somewhere. I dont mind riding from town to the trails since that is mainly what I do here in Tucson but would love maybe a few "from town" route suggestions? 30-40 mile routes are fine or there about. Have a few days I can ride before I have to help with the race so hope to get some nice riding in.

Plan was maybe one day do the Lunch Loops. Scout out the course for some photo spots.

Can I get to the Horse thief area via trails from the Lunch Loop area?

Is the 18rd stuff to far to ride out to? Looks fairly flat to get out there.

Kokopelli (i.e Horsethief) is Interstate. You could ride the backroads from GJ to Fruita, but it would be a major haul. It takes me 35 minutes to drive to 18 road from my house, so you'd be looking at at least 2-2.5 hours commute each way.

Depending on where you're staying in GJ, you could ride out to the LL's.

Get a shuttle from grassroots (bike shop in GJ) to the top of the ribbon. Take that down, then up to the top of the lunch loops.

    Problem solved...

    +1.
I don't use Strava. Don't need an application to tell me I am slow because I already know.

Lunch Loops is your best bet with no car. You could ride to 18rd and kok, but like stated already it's a couple hours each way to the TH by bike. From downtown GJ it's a chill 4-5 miles to LL. No need to shuttle the ribbon, you came to ride right!
