    Fruita and tacos

OK, heading to Fruita in a couple weeks, and can't remember the name of the really good taco / mexican place. Any western slopers wanna help a front ranger out? Also, any new must eat places open up? I haven't been in a couple years...

    Thanks!

I don't know if there are any great Mexican restuarants in Fruita/GJ.
El Tapatio and Fiesta Guadalajara are good in Fruita.
I think Dos Hombres and La Bamba in GJ are better.

Pollo Asado on North Ave in GJ. No frills, no cheddar cheese fried tortilla crud Americanized tacos. Good Mexican food made by good people.

Good for the soul. Ride and then enjoy!
Uh-huh, uh-huh. Okay. Um Can you repeat the part of the stuff where you said all about uuhhh, things. Uhh... the things.

I think Fiesta Guadalajara is pretty damn good... it's off the exit on the frontage road.

El Tapatio is the place to be. carnitas tacos, mole, and big ass margaritas. nathy's has been gone for three years now. fiesta guadalajara is ok, but el tap is still the best.

FG has the best Carne Asada I've had, plus their margs are 2:1 at happy hour. Whatever you do, DO NOT eat at the Mexican place on Main Street in Fruita; it's total dog food.

Used to love Pacho's Villa. Bunch of old time locals mixed in with hung over bikers... awesome mix, decent food.

And Tater. It *always* had Tater.

    I wonder where Tater went.

Pancho's was actually kick-a$$ for breakfast. Classic cafe-fare.

    Never ate dinner there.

On the way out/back to/from Fruita - Jilberto's in West Glenwood.

Just had Jilbertos for the first time a couple weeks ago.
    +1

Never met Tater, and I'm guessing I'd remember if I had.

The mural in Ponchos was sweet.

If you want the best Fruita has to offer get the carne or chicken asada at the mexican market in the stip mall off highway 6. Grab a six pack of modelo negro at the liquor joint next door, bring some charcoal and hit park park behind the mall. Grill, drink, chillax and enjoy.
