    Fruita has a brew pub!

Finally, after a year and then some, the Suds Brothers Brew Pub is open for business, right smack dab in Fruita. Food is good, beer is good, and they make a really good root beer as well. (they also put vanilla vodka in their homemade rootbeer and that makes it even better!)

Hope they make it! I always wondered how the last outfit could go broke when the town is full of mountain bikers for a large part of the year.

Never mind, I answered my own question.

Hopefully it will have great beer. The valley needs a second place that makes great beer.

I am not a local, so I am curious what you think the other one is.

I like Kannah Creek, but don't you have some others?

You know what they say about mountain bikers - they show up in town with one pair of riding shorts and one $20 bill - and they don't change either one.

Kannah Creek's brews are great. Palisade Brewery had great beer two owners ago, sadly it doesn't anymore. Rockslide is up and down. Just my opinions though. I really hope Suds can pull it off.

Beer is OK, but I'm looking for top shelf hookers. And a store that sells elephant feet slippers.

    I'm silly that way.

I met the guys from Suds Bros last spring at the Grand Valley Beer Festival. Nice guys. As I can recall, from the numerous beverages tasted that day, Suds Brothers brewed a couple of fine beers.

I hope they can get and keep traction.
Uh-huh, uh-huh. Okay. Um Can you repeat the part of the stuff where you said all about uuhhh, things. Uhh... the things.

Tried the porter and the monkey butt, both were good, and my wife liked the hefiwiezen. The burgers were hand made too, not the cheap frozen patties crap, the wings were messy and tasty. It's kinda nice to see people downtown during the off season, hope they make it. It's nice to have a change from pizza and beer every now and then.
    I need to ride moooore

I might stop there if i decide to end my boycott of Fruita. Maybe the BLM could give a free nights camping at 18rd with the purchase of a local pint

We visited the new brewery last Saturday. It was packed, and it was great to see a lot of locals and visitors enjoying a new spot.

Went to Suds last night. Had the pale ale, pretty good, nice & smooth. As mentioned, burgers are really good, as was the Reuben sandwich my wife had. Fries are fresh made too! Now, time for breakfast then suit up for a great ride!

stopped in for a minute and had a couple of beers today. Talked to the owners and he is working on getting all the brewing systems up. Currently he is doing all ales(hefe, amber, brown, porter, pale) but has plans to do some other styles/lagers once he gets the equipment temps right etc.

Wit was fresh with a good yeast smell. Porter was solid.
    WTF

Hopefully, it will stay open past 9 pm on the Fat Tire Festival weekend. BeanMan is right about Palisade. Had to follow the old owner, Tom, down to Ridgway and the Colorado Boy Brewery for the best beer.

Yup, the Colorado Boy should be a stop in Ridgeway for any beer fan.
