Depends where in CO and what trails you're planning on riding, where are you planning on going?

As Tom described in the Front Range forum... bring gears. Bring suspension. In my experience, it's better to have both and not need them to need them and not have them.

In Crested Butte you can get away with having a HT, but I would agree it can't hurt to bring the full suspension. There are some fantastic techy spots on trails here which you'd be glad you have the full suspension.

You will hate that 1x10 in the mountains of CO.

1x10 is fine in the mountains if:

    1) the "1" is 20-tooth
    2) the largest of the 10 is 40-tooth
