    Durango Accommodations offer

This is sort of a spam post, but after quite a few threads recently asking about info on staying and riding Durango, I figured I'd make the offer.

After living off and on in Durango since I was a kid, I moved out to California a few years ago, but couldn't bring myself to sell (and couldn't sell anyway in the dismal market of the time) my place there. So after renting it out long-term for a few years, we recently did some work on it and decided to leave it open for friends, family, and ourselves to use. I offered its use to a couple of MTBR peeps that were making the trip to Durango, and so far, everyone's been pretty stoked to use the place as a very affordable base from which to explore D-town.

So might as well make that offer official since we only get out there a few times a year. It's a 2 bed, 2.25 bath town home fully furnished that can sleep 6 (8 if you're willing to deploy the air mattress). It has nice decks, views into the La Platas, a handful of cruisers (and locks) to get around town on, a bike stand, floor pump, and other random tools to work on your ride, a grill, and some growlers ready to be filled. It's 6 blocks from downtown, practically across the street from the Horse Gulch trailhead, and a 3 minute ride/5 minute walk from the River. It's also available in the winter if you want to use it as a base to hit up Purg, Silverton, Wolf Creek, and Telluride...

Best part is we charge less then half of what the local motels do per night: $75/day + a cleaning/restocking fee between $50 and $100 a stay. We're not in this to make money, just want people to enjoy Durango and help us afford to keep it open for us and our friends/family.

This is awesome. I love Durango (lived there for 6 years), don't get there very often these days and usually have a place to stay, but good to have options.

Do you allow well-behaved older dogs?

We do with an extra deposit. We'll return it once we know all is good after your stay.

I hit up Hunter for this offer and just got back from a great little get-away to Durango. His place is a tremendous value and is a great launching pad for all things Durango. Thanks Hunter!
