Crested Butte Mid June Trail Conditions?

I am planning a trip out to CB this summer and trying to find a week that works for all my buddies. It looks like June 18th-22nd is our best bet. My question to any of you CB/Gunnison locals is if the trails are usually melted and dry by this time of year. It looks like the Evolution Bike Park usually opens around the 15th, and from the videos online the trails look dry. Is that true for the other classic trails (401/403, Doctors, etc) as well?

Depends, will it snow or will it not? Three summers ago top of 401 was buried pretty much all summer. Two summers ago top of 401 was dry by early June.

Rolling the dice that time of year on the high country rides.

I'd *plan* on them being closed and have lower elevation options sorted out.

As others have replied, it really depends on what type of winter they get. Last year we did a family reunion trip in CB for Memorial day. We were able to stay plenty busy on the lower elevation rides and some stuff in Gunnison but the higher trails 401, 403, etc. were a long way from being rideable. My guess is that by mid-June you would have plenty of open trail to ride but probably not the highest elevation trails.

Chek out the 2 links, good info for what you will encounter in the high country come summer.

Click on the stake you want to the right, Schofield Pass is at the beginng of the 401 Trail. It shows over 105 inches now. You can keep an eye on this as the riding season gets close.
