Which Bike for San Juan Hut Telluride to Moab Trip

Wondering which bike i should ride on on an upcoming 7 day ride on the San Juan Hut system from Telluride to Moab.

I normally ride a Yeti 575 but i'm thinking i'm might want to ride one of my hard tail 29ers for efficiency's sake while climbing. I'm worried that the 575 full suspension isn't going to work as well as needed if the bike is weighted with travel supplies.

A friend of mine did that trip last year on his 29er HT. He is good shape, but also from chicago; so the climbs were a bit bigger for him. He also took everything with him, so they weren't pinning anything, but rather bike-packing along the whole route. He thought the bike was about spot on.

    I did it on a 26ht.

The other 3 were on 26 XC full suspension.

Nobody had any problems with their rides.

Since it's mostly dirt/gravel roads just about anything will work.
