    40 Grand Race

Anybody racing or going to check it out this weekend?

Will probably take the kid down for the crits Friday night. Then was thinking about heading up somewhere on trail to watch the Pros come down Sunday.

Looks like the race starts at 7am and Cuts off at 1PM. The award ceremony is scheduled for noon.

Any guesses when the top pros will finish? Obviously they are planning for before noon. That course would take me all day (maybe 2).

Bonus Points: Your prediction where will Ross Schnell will finish.

Yeah, I considered hanging out near one of the more technical sections & watching the pros ride it Sun...but I think I'll just go for a long ride somewhere instead

I'm coming out to race on Sat. Would you guys recommend a hardtail or full suspension? I've checked the course videos & flyover video and it looks fairly smooth.
    Thanks

It's anything but smooth. I would say full suspension for sure .

I ride my rigid out there occasionally just to change things up and have to limit the miles cause I get beat up!

Fyi, Got to see the women's Crit take off tonight and I'd guess it was 70/30 Full suspension to hard tail ratio. Total guess though, I had been drinking.

Seemed like most of the guys were on FS too, but I didn't get to watch that race, just saw a few groups milling around warming up.

I was wondering about that. I saw he didn't ride the Crit last night and figured maybe he was out for some reason.

I rode the 40 on Saturday. It was brutal. After MASSIVE cramping in both legs 25 miles in, it took everything I had to just finish before the cutoff, but I made it.
