Xpost from Passion, A Golden Gate Easter

    Easter Festivities.

It was a beautiful day here on the Front Range yesterday. Sleeveless jersey weather. Jasonb, Icegeek and I left the Casa de MTB in the afternoon and took the short drive up Golden Gate Canyon to the the eponymous park.

Conditions were perfect. Snow was minimal and for the most part rideable, though there were several leaps of faith out onto slabs of snow that may or may not have been soft. That may or may not have caved in to the creek below. LEaps of faith. It was Easter afterall.

If only the escape key really worked that way....

It is a rare thing indeed for me to get ahead of Jason on a descent. In fact I did not get ahead of him here, he probably just lapped me...

    The spokes....

...are the only thing in focus.

A lovely and grueling afternoon. I have a marked distaste for Burros and Buffalos now. Mountain Lions are quite nice. Blue Grouse and Elk are acceptable in their own way. Raccoons are decent enough, but they have a tendency to shoot straight up things. Mule Deer and Snowshoe Hares are good things too.

There are many good bike companies out there, and I work for one of them.

what time were ya'll out there? i finished up about 3pm, at the aspen meadows campground.

bits of snowshoe hare and buffalo, and all of the backside of mtn. lion make all the climbing worthwhile.

Prolly started around 2:30, 3ish. Finished in the low 7's, I expect. Rolled out with the waning sunlight.
