Send something that big today and you'll end up in Kansas

I just stuck my arm out my car window coming back from Boulder. At 50 mph the wind was pushing against my arm, steady-like.

I'm with ya! I was ready to go session Valmont today. Then I was going to hit up some other jumps in Boulder. Probably going to hold out since the wind is pretty bad.. Sick picture!

Pu$$ies. I just rode Hall Ranch, and it was well, interesting- but definitely fun. Sure, the 70 mph winds stopped me dead in some spots, but it rocked coming back down with that wind at my back. Plus, it's nice when the wind literally pushes you UP the hill. I only got knocked off the trail twice.

It was pretty cool to see leaves flying past my car (going the same direction as me) when I was going 70 mph coming home.

Hit Picture Rock and headed up Wild Turkey towards the overlook. Turned around right before the overlook due to downed trees and the wind sounding like a freight train. Returning to the Pic Rock junction there were about 3 trees down that were not there when we were climbing up. Saw one come down.

I had to install new lights on my house today. Great day for that, I know. I almost got blown off the ladder a few times and the ladder did get blown across the yard when I stepped off it.

Well, GBP was a bust. But the new skatepark in Arvada is going to be amazing when they finish it. Finished the day back at the Denver Skatepark.

I should have gone to the Springs. The wind wasn't nearly as bad down there.

Well sh*t, I wasn't talking to you.... I wouldn't hit those jumps if it was 100% calm.

Has already picked back up again in Castle Rock. I can hear it whipping around the corner of the house.

Yep, it's insane out here in Erie- I can't imagine what it's like closer to the foothills in Boulder and Lyons.

Totally calm in Westminster, 9 am Sunday. That is, at 104th and Federal. These winds come out of some wind nozzle that sprays in one area then in another area. We could have big winds in an hour, maybe not.

A few years ago it was howling at my house but I had to ride. I drove through tumbleweeds and trashcans hurtling at me out of my 'hood, heading down to Mathews Winters, figuring maybe it was calm there. It was worse there. I didn't even get out of my truck.

Yep, the front passed. Too bad I have to work tonight. bah! Oh, and I wish the new Arvada Skatepark would open soon. 16ft deep bowl at the end of a snake run, 4ft of vert. Makes my heart skip a little.

West of Lyons it's breezy but no gusts like yesterday. Looks like a nice day for a ride.

Since we've got a baby sitter I'll be out hitting the trails with the misses. Hell yeah.

Here's a video about the Arvada Skate Park. I see folks skating there. I guess they are testing it out. I would definitely watch competitions if they have hold them there.

Yesterday was pretty crazy riding Marshall Mesa and some of the trails across 93 towards the hills. Being pushed up hill was incredible. We were both on SS and just the last hundred yards of our ride going back west to the cars was completely unridable...all in all a good morning!

There'll probably be a lot of trees across trails to cut out. The wind event was pretty widespread across the state.

Yep. watched a large, dead tree get blown over yesterday at Horsetooth and there is a good size tree down across the trail in the rocks at Hall that I saw today.

Wind so bad North of the border didn't even bother riding (or driving) up to Curt Gowdy today, but it was probably nice in the trees. Had to tie my grill to the deck railing before it got blown over.

I was in Moab once during a particularly bad wind storm. I figured if I was in the trees I'd be OK. I went up to ride back and forth on Upper/Lower Porc. The wind was howling, huge gusts roaring up Castle Valley, slamming into the high cliffs. However, if I stood just 5' away from the edge, the wind would go up and over me and I was in the calm. I'd hear the gusts coming, I could almost feel the cliff shaking, the trees behind me were bending over but I was just a spectator. Pretty surreal.
